培养学术卓越, 为他人服务, 以及有意义的课外活动, the Eastern Christian School 荣誉学院 is designed to engage, 激励, and challenge our strongest and most ambitious students.

应用程序s will be made available in the spring of eighth grade, 偶尔九年级, for all students who believe they may be a good fit for the 荣誉学院. Strong candidates typically earn mostly As in their classes and score in the 90th percentile on a nationally normed assessment like MAP tests.

学者

荣誉学院 students must maintain a minimum 3.每学期平均成绩75分, 完成至少10项荣誉, AP, or dual enrollment courses during high school, and participate in at least one national or regional academic competition. Seniors will complete a culminating capstone project.

服务

学生 within the 荣誉学院 will satisfy a minimum of 12.5 hours of 服务 learning per year, preferably with the same non-profit organization. Sophomore students will serve as mentor leaders on a middle school retreat trip.

经验

Involvement in two categorically different co-curricular activities each year (e.g. 体育和音乐)是必需的. 荣誉学院 students are expected to participate in all 领导力讲座系列 events, 参加年度静修, 保持一份学术期刊, and meet regularly with the 荣誉学院 Advisor.

领导力讲座系列

领导力系列讲座, 由荣誉学院赞助, invites industry leaders and experts in their fields to speak to EC students. 这 series runs three times over the course of the school year and is open to all EC students and families.

每年冬天, 荣誉学院 students will enjoy a time of fun, 新鲜的空气, 还有校外的联谊会. The retreat will focus on community-building, leadership training, and planning for the year ahead.

荣誉学院 seniors will dream, design, and execute a culminating capstone project. Projects will be collaborative in nature and positively impact a local or global community.

Sustained commitment to fewer activities allows for greater impact and a more rewarding experience than a partial commitment to many. Academy students are encouraged to invest deeply in their chosen co-curricular and 服务 opportunities.

Each student will maintain an 荣誉学院 journal that will accompany them throughout high school. 《新葡京app》, coupled with frequent group discussions and individual meetings and with the 荣誉学院 Advisor, will promote thoughtful reflection of learning, 服务, 以及未来的目标.

准备

学生 will develop a strong academic and co-curricular resume to be competitively positioned for college admissions. There will be opportunities to visit college campuses and 荣誉学院 students are expected to apply to at least one highly selective college or university.

荣誉学院 members will be recognized as part of the commencement ceremony and will receive notation on their high school transcript.

A proud Philadelphia native and NJ transplant, Jesse has held college counseling positions in a variety of schools including The Stony Brook School, 马瓦高中, and a prior term at Eastern Christian (2012-2018). As the 学术总监 and 大学咨询 at EC, Jesse is committed to providing comprehensive resources and strong support for students throughout their academic progression and postsecondary transition. Jesse also serves as the Advisor for the Eastern Christian School 荣誉学院. These complementary roles align with Jesse’s passion for building relationships with students and helping them discern and follow the Lord’s leading in their lives. He is also passionate about Liverpool Football Club, but in a different way. Jesse is married to Lindsey Struck and they have three young children.
